Laser hair loss treatment

In laser hair loss treatment, the scalp is bathed with low levels of laser light, at a specific frequency and intensity. This delivers energy into the cells, resulting in the regrowth of hair. This treatment is also referred to as low-level laser. This therapy has, up to recent times, involved visitations to a hair clinic 3-4 times a month for six months up to a year. This treatment helps men and women suffering from hair loss and thinning, or bad scalps. It recharges the cells in the scalp, restoring the regrowth of hair by stimulating the blood circulation at a cellular level.

The cells in our scalp are capable of mending themselves, but this process is slowed down or stopped by various factors such as age, hormones and exposure to environmental hazards. Laser treatments stimulate this mending process to revert to its normal course through the use of focused soft vitality. It is a long-proven technological rule that light has an effect on cubicle role. Laser handling is phototherapy, not a form of magic. This process can be compared to the one involved in tanning through the use of a solarium. A specific wavelength is applied for about 30 minutes in the solarium, thus completing the required dosage for an appropriate tan.

Similarly, to restore circulation in hair follicles, a certain amount of dosage (in the form of energy) has to be provided. The different types of laser hair loss treatment devices are:

Laser Luce LDS 100

The Laser Luce LDS 100 has shown growth in about 70% of hairs while they are in a resting phase. This method increases blood supply to the scalp, resulting in higher absorption of nutrients by the hair follicles. This leads to a healthier hair growth than before.

In this method, the patient is made to sit under a dome shaped apparatus with low energy laser lights inside it, which are made to flash. After a series of treatments where the scalp receives increased blood flow and nutrient supply, hair regrowth occurs.

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Low-level laser therapy is a term given to a form of laser treatment that does not break the skin. It is also called low-power laser, soft laser, cool laser and therapeutic laser therapy. This method has shown improvement in the health of existing hair, and faster hair regrowth.

Laser hair loss treatment works the same way as the other methods of curing pain, and healing wounds and tissues. Simulation of the blood supply results in the enhancement of cell activity. This results in greater supply of nutrients to the follicles, resulting in increased hair growth. LLLT is also used to heal the scalp after hair transplant surgeries.

Laser Comb – The device available to the home user

This is a newly developed alternative to in-office laser hair loss treatments: When laser comb is used over the scalp and through the hair over a period of 3 months, 15-20 minutes thrice a week, significant results have been observed in terms of hair regrowth, stoppage of hair loss and improvement of hair health and quality.

This method is the most convenient and economical available to the home user today, and does not involve any huge machines or complicated procedures. Just by simple and regular use of this device, it is now possible to enhance the regrowth of hair – a blessing for those troubled by hair loss up to now.
